| We travel each year to the bazaars and villages of India and Tibet to find new and unusual treasures, in textiles, including block prints, saris, quilts and table linens. We also find wonderful sterling silver jewelry and glass bangles as well as very ethnic jewelry, novelty boxes, silver-plate, votives, giftware, candles, terracotta, wood furniture and novelties and glass and we offer them here on our website, or at our store in Thomaston, Maine.
We board the train in New Delhi and travel south to the deserts of
Rajasthan, where we find colorful block print table cloths and napkins,
traditional Jaipur Blue Pottery and handcrafted sterling silver jewelry.
Then on to the beaches of Kerela to search for silk lunghis and sarongs and
wonderful carved rosewood elephants. At the tip of India, at Kanya Kumari,
we buy shell products including jewelry and wall hangings. The leather
animal banks come from Calcutta and the applique umbrellas and wall
hangings are from Orissa |
